  • Poly coated Kraft paper
  • Our Kraft paper is coated or laminated with Polyethylene to improve its barrier properties, to provide additional strength & to make it heat sealable as well as  to improve gas and moisture barrier properties.
  • Laminated paper is used to package dried products such as soups, herbs, and spices. Polyamide or polyamine resin is added into kraft fiber and cured under heat to produce wet strength kraft paper.
  • Colored Kraft Paper in Black, Red, Blue, Green, and Purple (deep colors). A range of options in roll widths, roll diameters, core sizes, sheets, and die-cut pieces to cater to various requirements.

Product details

1. Composition:

  • Base Material: Made from high-quality virgin or recycled kraft paper.
  • Coating/Lamination: The outer layer is coated with polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP), which provides waterproofing, grease resistance, and enhanced durability.

2. Grammage (Basis Weight):

  • Standard Weight: Typically ranges from 70 GSM to 300 GSM, depending on the application and required strength.
  • Heavier Grades: Higher grammage for more demanding applications may exceed 300 GSM.

3. Thickness (Caliper):

  • Thickness Range: Generally varies from 100 microns to 500 microns, with typical thickness for laminated kraft paper around 150 to 300 microns.

4. Coating Properties:

  • Plastic Coating Thickness: The thickness of the plastic coating usually ranges from 10 to 50 microns, depending on the required moisture and grease barrier properties.
  • Gloss and Finish: Available in various finishes, including matte, gloss, or satin, depending on the application and aesthetic requirements.

5. Barrier Properties:

  • Moisture Resistance: The plastic coating provides excellent moisture barrier properties, preventing water ingress and maintaining the integrity of the paper.
  • Grease Resistance: Ideal for packaging greasy or oily foods due to its effective grease resistance, which prevents oil penetration.

6. Tensile Strength:

  • Tensile Strength Values: Generally ranges from 20 to 50 N/mm², providing adequate strength for packaging applications and ensuring durability during handling and transport.

7. Printability:

  • Surface Treatment: The laminated surface allows for high-quality printing using flexographic or digital printing techniques, making it suitable for custom branding.
  • Ink Compatibility: Compatible with water-based and solvent-based inks, providing vibrant and durable print quality.

8. Heat Resistance:

  • Temperature Range: Typically withstands temperatures up to 90°C (194°F), making it suitable for various cooking and food service applications.

9. Eco-Friendly Options:

  • Recyclability: Depending on the plastic coating used, some variants are recyclable; however, laminated paper may require specialized recycling processes.
  • Sustainably Sourced: Many products are available in FSC or PEFC certified materials, supporting sustainable forestry practices.

10. Customization Options:

  • Custom Sizes: Available in various widths and lengths to meet specific customer requirements.
  • Branding and Design: Custom printing options are available for branding, including logos and product information.

11. Applications:

  • Food Packaging: Commonly used for wrapping greasy foods, bakery items, and take-out containers.
  • Industrial Packaging: Suitable for packaging components that require protection from moisture and contamination.
  • Craft and Stationery: Used in arts and crafts projects, as well as for creating durable stationery items.

12. Key Performance Indicators:

  • Water Vapor Transmission Rate (WVTR): Typically less than 5 g/m²/24hr, ensuring minimal moisture absorption.
  • Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR): Effective barrier against oxygen transmission, depending on the coating type.
